The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) started the year with further cooperation and strengthening of ties with other government agencies to ensure a healthy sharing of information and program implementation.
For the month of January, DOLE-NCR participated in the Regional Task Force (RTF) on COVID-19 as well as the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease. Also for the first month of 2022, DOLE-NCR joined in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Regional Advisory Council (RAC) meeting. Representing DOLE-NCR was Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes of the Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division.
The RTF and RIATF are held every Mondays of the month wherein information from various government agencies on measures to address the pandemic are being presented and discussed. Resolutions are likewise being discussed for dissemination and implementation in line with the mandate of the inter-agency bodies, all in line with achieving a common objective of addressing the health crisis.
On the other hand, the 4Ps RAC meeting showcased the accomplishments of said intervention in terms of alleviating the conditions of its beneficiaries. During the discussions, Delos Reyes encouraged the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – NCR to re-establish the practice of providing labor market information and career guidance to 4Ps beneficiaries transitioning to senior high school so as to provide informed career choices. April Campos-Co of DSWD-NCR considered the suggestion and even further requested for an orientation on DOLE programs and services that can be availed by the 4Ps beneficiaries.
DOLE-NCR has been a member of various inter-agency coordination due to the Department’s unique mandate on employment promotion and catering to the various sectors’ welfare. Aside from the mentioned inter-agencies, DOLE-NCR is also a prime partner to the Regional Youth Advisory Council lodge at the National Youth Commission and the Regional Council for Disability Affairs under the DSWD-NCR; among others.
