The start of pandemic lockdowns since March 2020 greatly affected the majority of companies that resorted to downsizing to save their businesses. Now that restrictions are slowly being lifted, employers have decided to open their doors for jobseekers to become part of their corporations.
The City of Parañaque’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its MUNTAPARLAS Field Office, had organized an in-house/special recruitment activity for the Great Value Manangement Services, Inc. on May 18, 2022.
A total of 88 jobseekers applied for the company’s vacant positions, of which 52 of them were deemed, qualified candidates. Also, some 16 applicants were immediately hired-on-the-spot (HOTS), while 9 out of the 52 qualified jobseekers would be subjected to further interviews.
The activity was created due to the rise in the number of their clients, thus creating the demand for vacant positions that they needed to fill. This is the first face-to-face special recruitment activity that PESO Parañaque conducted in two years, due to the lowering of restrictions in the city.
Meanwhile, Assistant PESO Manager Amie Martin conducted an employment coaching seminar to help the jobseekers to have a greater chance of getting hired by said company, in which they were briefed about the phases of the job application process.
FAQs and tips for the application process based on employers’ previous comments and actual employment scenarios were also discussed in the seminar.
